Experience the ultimate Tanzanian safari adventure with Legendary Wonders as you follow the awe-inspiring Great Migration. Over five days, witness abundant wildlife, dramatic landscapes, and unforgettable encounters from Arusha to Tarangire, Ndutu, and Ngorongoro Crater. This journey is designed to blend thrilling game drives with comfortable accommodations and immersive safari experiences.

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a Legendary Wonders representative will meet you and transfer you to your lodge in Arusha. Spend your evening relaxing and preparing for the safari ahead. Arusha Planet Lodge, nestled in the heart of Arusha, offers a tranquil setting surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of northern Tanzania, making it the perfect start to your adventure.
After breakfast, your personal safari guide will pick you up from the lodge and take you to Tarangire National Park. The drive is scenic, crossing gently rolling Maasai plains dotted with acacia trees. Along the way, you’ll see Maasai herders, colorful traditional attire, and local life unfolding beside the road.
Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds, and from the open roof of your modern safari vehicle, you’ll have the best vantage point to spot zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, giraffes, and possibly lions or leopards. The Tarangire River provides life to the diverse wildlife, offering incredible photo opportunities at every turn. After a day of exploration, you’ll enjoy dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
After breakfast, travel from Karatu into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, crossing the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands toward Ndutu. Today’s game drive focuses on the Great Migration, as herds congregate near Lake Ndutu between December and April. This area is rich with predators, and January marks the start of the wildebeest calving season, offering incredible wildlife viewing opportunities.
Begin the morning with an early game drive in Ndutu, capturing the last of the migration’s action before continuing to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was formed by the eruption of a massive volcano millions of years ago. The Ngorongoro Crater spans approximately 304 sq km and plunges 610 meters deep, providing sanctuary to over 25,000 animals. After an afternoon game drive, arrive at your camp on the crater rim for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. The crater’s dense wildlife population offers opportunities to see wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and, with luck, the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch in this spectacular setting before returning to Arusha in the afternoon.
