Your journey begins in the lush rainforest of Marangu Gate, continues through moorland and alpine desert, and leads you to the snow-capped summit of Uhuru Peak — the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters above sea level. Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by a Legendary Wonders representative. Transfer to Weru Weru River Lodge in Moshi for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart from the hotel at 7:30 a.m. for Marangu Gate, where registration and trekking formalities will be completed. Begin your ascent through lush rainforest alive with the sounds of tropical birds and monkeys.
Hike time: Approx. 4 hours
Elevation gain: +820m
Arrive at Mandara Huts (2,780m) for dinner and overnight.
Continue your climb through the forest and into the heath and moorland zone. As the landscape opens, enjoy views of Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks in the distance.
Hike time: Approx. 6 hours
Elevation gain: +1,000m
Overnight at Horombo Huts (3,780m).
Spend a day acclimatizing to the altitude. Take a light hike toward Mawenzi Crater (approx. 4,300m) for stunning views before returning to camp. In the afternoon, relax and enjoy the mountain’s peaceful atmosphere.
Climb gradually through alpine desert terrain toward Kibo Hut, your base for the final summit push. Arrive by early afternoon for rest and light meals in preparation for the night ascent.

Elevation gain: +910m
Overnight at Kibo Huts (4,700m).
Rise before midnight for hot tea and snacks before beginning your ascent to the summit. Trek steadily to Gilman’s Point, then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your accomplishment at sunrise, then begin your descent back to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing down to Horombo Huts.
Total trekking time: 12–14 hours
Elevation gain: +1,195m / Descent: -2,115m
Overnight at Horombo Huts (3,780m).
After breakfast, descend through moorland and rainforest back to Marangu Gate. Meet your driver and return to Weru Weru River Lodge for a well-deserved rest, hot shower, and delicious dinner.
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge, then transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
